About SJCJS

The Student Journal of Canadian Jewish Studies provides a forum for undergraduate and graduate papers, articles and book reviews from any discipline relating to the Jewish experience in Canada.

Our aim is to attract a diverse audience in terms of background and interests, and provide a forum for undergraduate and graduate students to familiarize themselves with the field of Canadian Jewish Studies.

 

About the Editors

Jennifer Zilm
Jennifer Zilm has a M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of British Columbia and is presently a doctoral candidate in Early Judaism at the Department of Religious Studies at McMaster University. Her doctoral research concerns the intersection of gender, angels and liturgy in Second Temple Judaism. She also writes fiction and poetry and her work has been published in journals such as Quills and Room Magazine.

Katherine Romanow
Katherine Romanow is a Master’s student in the Judaic Studies program at Concordia University in Montreal. Her research focuses on Jewish food in the modern period with a particular interest in the foods of Passover. She also writes about Jewish food traditions and recipes as part of the “Eating Jewish” column for the Jewish Women’s Archive blog, Jewesses with Attitude.
