Our services
The Financial Aid and Awards Office assists students and prospective students in seeking and securing financial assistance to enable them to pursue their scholastic objectives. Student financial assistance is available in various forms, including government financial aid, usually in the form of student loans and/or bursaries, university scholarships and bursary programs, on-campus work opportunities through the University Work Study Program, and corporate scholarship programs.

The staff at the Financial Aid and Awards Office is available to explain eligibility requirements and application procedures. You are encouraged to plan your personal budget well in advance, as it can take two to three months to process government student financial applications.
Financial Aid Officers are available to provide you with personalized, in-depth assistance with your student aid record. You should consult them if you require assistance involving a detailed review of your circumstances, such as:
- Verification and forecasting of Quebec loans and bursaries financial needs assessments.
- Verification of eligibility for assistance.
- Advice on processing of applications for government student financial aid.
- Correction of student files with government student aid agencies.
- Processing of appeals to government agencies.
- Inquiries regarding anomalies related to the processing of student aid applications.
- Verification of required documentation.
- Disbursement of aid.
Student loan debt repayment advice
Most students do not give a lot of thought to the repayment terms of their student loans and the impact these will have on their future. Financial Aid Officers are available to help students weigh their projected debt against their projected income, and to explore the various repayment options available.
Tuition Deferrals and Bookstore Line of Credit
Students who have received confirmation of financial assistance from a government funding source, and who are unable to pay their tuition fees or books by the required payment deadline may apply to defer payment until the receive their funds (see the Undergraduate calendar for tuition payment deadlines).
A Bookstore Line of Credit can allow you to purchase the books and documents on your class book list and have the cost added to your student account at the University.

Short-Term Advances / Emergency Loans
Limited funds are available at the Financial Aid and Awards Office for Concordia University students who are experiencing financial difficulties. Such advances are issued to full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students.
Students must see a Financial Aid Officer for further information on eligibility requirements and conditions. You will be required to bring your student aid assessment or a recent pay-stub when requesting a short-term advance or emergency loan.
