Government of Québec student loans and bursaries

Note that the 2008-2009 online application is still available.

For Quebec's Loan and Bursary program, Concordia's school code is 980000.


Please note that the Financial Aid and Awards Office can only confirm your actual registration to Aide financière aux études (AFE).

Definition of full-time status

A student's full-time-status is determined by the number of credits for which she or he is registered at the close of the tuition refund period, in the following way:

  • Registration for the Summer session: 12 credits
  • Registration for Fall session only: 12 credits or more
  • Registration for Winter session only: 12 credits or more
  • Registration for both Fall and Winter sessions: 24 credits or more

For Graduate Certificates and Diploma Programs

A student is classified as full-time if she or he is registered for 8 or more credits in one term, 16 or more credits in two terms, or 24 or more credits in three terms.

For Master or Doctoral Programs

A student must be classified as full-time at the time of initial registration.

Students who do not meet the normal requirements of full-time studies may be deemed as a full-time by the Quebec Government, if they are registered for a minimum of 6 credits per semester in either an Undergraduate Program, in a Graduate Certificate or a Graduate Diploma Program and fall into one of the following categories:

  • Student with a major disability
  • Student at least 20 weeks pregnant
  • Single parent:
    • Student lives with his child who is under age 12 as of September 30th of the current award year
    • Student lives with is child who is under age 21 as of September 30th of the current award year, if the child is a student with a major functional disability
  • Student with spouse:
    • Student lives with his child who is under age 6 as of September 30th of the current award year
    • Student lives with is child who is under age 21 as of September 30th of the current award year, if the child is a student with a major functional disability
